I have a new blog!

In Uncategorized on November 11, 2011 at 5:44 pm

Hi everyone. I have just opened a new blog that runs on the site of D, the weekly magazine of Italian daily newspaper La Repubblica. While I will keep on publishing a selection of my favourite printed articles on lauratraldi.wordpress.com, from now on I will also be able to give some space and visibility to things, ideas, images or anything that lands on my table, I fall in love with, yet have no possibility (for one reason or another) to publish on the printed magazine. Below is the link. Very few posts for now. But I hope you will enjoy it! PS: I tried everything to have it bi-lingual, English-Italian. It will eventually be. But for now, Italian only. Sorry….

Jasper Morrison interview for Klat

In Uncategorized on April 13, 2011 at 7:13 am

Jasper Morrison is the sort of guy who would much rather stay in a rundown hotel than a designer one. “It’s a question of atmosphere,” he explains, “designer spaces make me uncomfortable.” Others may share this view, but it is somewhat surprising to hear such a comment from an industrial designer, and a very well-known one at that. Beautiful simplicity

In Salone del Mobile 2011, Uncategorized, Young Designers on April 11, 2011 at 6:44 am

A design duo with a knack for getting it right, Barber and Osgerby started their career with a lucky break and have gone on to earn every ounce of their subsequent success. Working with Vitra to produce the ultimate school table and chair, producing a light fixture for Flos, and furniture for others, while balancing a thriving interiors practice, they have shown they have everything it takes to handle the biggest kind of design challenge, that of the basic stuff of everyday life. They have truly risen to the task of refining simplicity to obtain the most absolute of results.
